The key bid here is 3D - it shows game points and 5-4 in the red suits. Note that South is not strong enough to rebid 3C which would show 16+ HCP.
The play in 3NT is a tad tricky. An initial count of tricks comes to only 6 - 3 more to source. The lead brings one, and so we need to source 2 more and for sure we will need cooperation from the opponents cards. The biggest thing to watch out for is how to keep communication between the dummy and declarer.
