Practically North cannot really play anywhere but 3 NT. With a heart stop,probably seven club tricks, and a heart lead most likely, North should count onpartner's being able to help out in spades and diamonds. Bidding slowly via 2Cfor example creates opportunities for bad things to happen - eg E to compete orpartner to pass! Remember in competition practicality may win matchpoints!
